During the course 2016/2017, in CEIP Antonio Machado, we started developing an activity called "Assistant students". This activity have been addapted throgh the courses to favour their work.

Nowadays, the "assistant students" are a group of pupils of the school chosen by their partners through a game: the secret. Throuh this game, we ask the pupils to think on the attributes that a person should have to be the one to whom we tell a secret, something intimate or something that would worry us. 

 

Every pupil should think on these attributes and the partners who have them, because these students will be the ones on whom they will trust.

The values we highlight are:

• Confidentiality.

• Respect.

• Commitment.

• Solidarity.

• Availability.

• Encouragement and support.

Their main functions are

• To explain their partners about the help they offer as assistant students.

• To spread this help individualy or in group actions with other partners.

• To welcome new students or to receive those pupils who are alone or rejected.

• To listen the other students about the conflicts they have and the restlessness they feel, without giving advices or critique.

• To perceive conflicts and discuss them using the meetings in order to look for solutions before they become bigger or more serious.

• To derive those cases in which we do not know how to act; also in those in which there are physical aggressions with excessive use of force, and provided that the people involved reflect a lot of pain and serious personal difficulties. The responsible teaching staff will evaluate with them the alternatives of action to follow.

"Assistant students" will act in to the school community in the school but they are ready to detect and act using the social networks.
